C.J. Williams, a four-star wide receiver and the No. 86 overall player in the Class of 2022, will make his college commitment live Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS Sports HQ. Williams has narrowed down his finalists to Notre Dame, Texas, Alabama, Ohio State and USC. The 247Sports crystal ball predicts that Notre Dame is the likely landing spot for Williams’ services. You can watch the announcement live in the video at the top of this page, on the CBS Sports App or via your connected device (Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV).

Williams is a 6-foot-2, 193-pounder from football factory Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. He is the 11th-ranked wide receiver and seventh-ranked player in the state of California, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He has 73 catches for 997 yards and nine touchdowns through three high school seasons.

Greg Biggins, national recruiting analyst for 247Sports, provided this scouting report on Williams.

“Smooth pass catcher who can line up at any of the receiver positions,” Biggins wrote. “Very athletic frame with plenty of room to add good weight and strength. Gets off the line well and shows the short area quickness to separate. Not a burner but runs well enough to be a deep threat and get behind a defense and can also make a play after the catch. Advanced route runner who is smart and understands how to set up a corner, when to settle in to a zone and doesn’t run himself out of being open. Natural pass catcher with good jump ball skills. Does a nice job winning 50-50 balls but can continue to improve strength and catching the ball through contact. Shows a nice upside and projects as a impact upper tier Power 5 starter and potential high round NFL draft pick.”

Williams has made official visits to Notre Dame, Texas, Stanford and Ohio State since the NCAA dead period ended on June 1.
